A batik tutorial rip-off

This past month on Design Matters TV (DMTV) Laura Kemshall did a "painting" technique using batik. I am going to copy (do the work myself) her technique but I want everyone to know this is a total rip-off of someone else's idea. I didn't think this up myself.
So now that I have everyone wondering what I will do.....just you'll just have to stay tuned. I will present this as a tutorial even though the approach and idea was not mine.
You're gonna' love this........

  1. Can't wait to see it. And as for the "rip-off", perhaps there are a finite number of techniques, but infinite ways to use them! And isn't that what this is all about - tapping into the unlimited possibilities and creating our own version (vision)?

  2. Please post soon so those of us who have the weekend off can maybe use your "ripped off" technique!

  3. There are no original ideas, but we all see things from different perspectives. I look forward to seeing your tutorial! I have been painting the wax on for batik for a few years now, and have also painted dyes over stamped wax areas... it's all fun, and I love the look I get with both methods.
