Are you impressed yet? You should be because he has figured out all the bells and whistles of Adobe Photoshop Elements. Do you own the program and have figured out how to do, kinda, one of two things with it? Well, that's me. And I didn't have a clue how to use it for textile design. He has it all figured out and has written a book.
I started learning on the first pages of the book when he was just talking about the basic tools. I have always wondered about the clone stamp tool. I have tried to use it but never been successful. Chipkin gives step by step instructions for using the tool and includes a CD that has practice images for experimentation. Frankly, that step by step instruction and the practice image files are what makes the book invaluable. The book builds from instructions for each basic tool to instructions on how to combine all the tools to create complex patterns. And, from beginning to end all the instructions are step by step and have practice images on the CD. Did I mention that the instructions are step by step with images to practice on? Yep, I am just that excited by how easy to follow the instructions are!

ReplyDeleteI own an older version of the full blown PhotoShop. I only recently learned how to watermark my photos. I'm sure that many of the same tools and techniques that are in Elements would apply to PS as well. I would LOVE to own this and learn to use and know about a few of the icons I see on the sidebar of PS.
